I am self-taught in painting. In 2005, my wife and I purchased an 1820s farmhouse in Upstate New York. We sought to furnish our house with period furniture and accessories including hand-painted stenciled floorcloths that I made. But I was more inspired by the aesthetics of the vibrant colors and intricate geometric designs of Amish quilts, of the Bauhaus movement and of mid-century modern graphics.
My art is expressed in my floorcloths and paintings. I strive to capture a sense of movement and I hope that the viewer sees something new each time they look.
